Royal Mail industrial action

The CWU has formally notified Royal Mail they plan to call on their members who collect, sort, and deliver parcels and letters to take national strike action. Royal Mail has well developed contingency plans, but cannot fully replace the efforts of our frontline workforce.

Royal Mail, “Services during Industrial Action”, 17th November 2022.

Full article available via the Royal Mail Website

Industrial Action has been confirmed for the following dates:

  • 30th November

  • 1st December

  • 9th December

  • 11th December

  • 14th December

  • 15th December

  • 23rd December

  • 24th December

After trialling alternative couriers and experiencing poor service we have made the decision to retain our services via Royal Mail throughout the national strikes. Orders placed during strike periods may take longer than expected to arrive and we encourage you to bear this in mind when placing an order.

During national strike action

Royal Mail will be prioritising the delivery of Tracked 24 parcels. If delays to your order will cause issues we encourage you to select Royal Mail Tracked 24 at checkout to minimise the chance of disruption.

We will be unable to dispatch items on the days where industrial action is taking place as we rely on Royal Mail collection services. Orders placed the day before planned industrial action will be dispatched on the next non-strike day.

What you can do

Order your items as early as possible ahead of the strike dates listed above.

Check the progress of your order via the tracking number provided in your dispatch email. This will provide accurate and reliable information about your parcels location.

Be patient and allow time for normal services to resume. Unfortunately the situation is out of our control and we only have access to the same tracking information as you, therefore we are unable to provide you with an estimated delivery date once your order has been dispatched. If your parcel has not arrived within 7 working days of dispatch we advise you to get in touch via our contact form.

We thank you for your patience during this time.
